چکیده
To evaluate changes in macular thickness via-a-vis visual acuity post uncomplicated manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) & phacoemulsification Prospective clinical study on 160 patients of immature senile cataract, aged 40-70yrs, were randomised into two groups, MSICS phacoemulsification, by simple 1:1 randomization, who underwent with posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL). Post-operatively, the evaluated for best corrected (BCVA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) at post-op Day 1, 7, 21, 48, 12 weeks. Paired t-test was used comparison across follow up. : At weeks post-operative, mean logMAR BCVA 0.01±0.02 group 0±0.02 Phacoemulsification group. Macular not statistically significant (p=0.342) between (219.19±17.88µm) Phacoemlusification (215.61±16.21µm), end post-operative. Clinically oedema diagnosed any follow-ups. Both procedures achieved good post-operative Best Corrected without differences both groups

Influence of Uncomplicated Phacoemulsification on Central Macular Thickness in Diabetic Patients: A Meta-Analysis
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of uncomplicated phacoemulsification on central macular thickness (CMT) and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in both diabetic patients without diabetic retinopathy (DR) and diabetic patients with mild to moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR). METHODS Potential prospective observational studies were searched through PubMed and EMBASE. Standa...
متن کاملEvaluation of choroidal thickness changes after phacoemulsification surgery
PURPOSE The aim of the study was to analyze the effects of uneventful phacoemulsification surgery on choroidal thickness (CT) using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). METHODS In this prospective study, 38 eyes of 38 patients having phacoemulsification surgery were included. All patients underwent detailed ophthalmologic examination, including preoperative axial length (AXL...

PURPOSE To evaluate changes occurring in central corneal thickness (CCT) immediately after uneventful cataract surgery. METHODS Thirteen consecutive patients who had uneventful phacoemulsification surgery by the same experienced surgeon were prospectively evaluated for CCT measurements 1 hour preoperatively and 1 hour, 1 day, and 1 week postoperatively. The unoperated eye also had CCT measure...
متن کاملAqueous Cytokines as Predictors of Macular Edema in Patients with Diabetes following Uncomplicated Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery
This study aims to ascertain whether cytokines in the aqueous humor can predict macular edema (ME) in diabetic patients following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery. Undiluted aqueous humor samples were obtained from 136 consecutive type 2 diabetic patients who underwent cataract surgery. The concentrations of 27 cytokines were measured in aqueous humor using the multiplex bead ...
متن کاملAqueous cytokines as predictors of macular edema in non-diabetic patients following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery
PURPOSE To ascertain whether cytokines in the aqueous humor can predict macular edema (ME) in non-diabetic patients following uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery. METHODS Undiluted aqueous humor samples were obtained from 288 consecutive non-diabetic patients (288 eyes; 132 men and 156 women) who underwent cataract surgery. Macular edema was defined as an increase in the foveal...
